A Year of Review, Refresh and Renew

It has been over a year since I took over as brand custodian of Pepperfit, and it has been a journey of discovery.

During this time, I have had an opportunity to use and appreciate the products, go through the brand’s historical catalogue and review what we need for the future.

Firstly, I don’t know what I expected but I did not expect the products to be quite as efficacious as they are. They are truly well formulated in aromatic materials and I had no cause to make any major changes to this.

What I did find however, was a distinct absence of Frankincense – and this is something I wanted to work on, to have a true yoga blend, and an alternative to a Rosemary blend that has more challenges for people with medical conditions. I wanted to bring more product specifically for that purpose.

I had another idea in mind for bright focus – something lively that can also support that need to concentrate… I had a pink pepper and pink grapefruit soap I once used and I wanted to build on that idea. There’s also other purposes that these essential oils can bring to the Pepperfit product range – professional and consumer driven alike.

And that’s it – Pepperfit has been born in Sports Massage Therapy, with supporting products across the range to support independent therapeutic needs – from pure essential oil blends to balms, and bath oils. But as an endurance challenger myself, I wanted to bring more efficacy, stronger storytelling ingredients and actives that service a real purpose for your recovery needs.

I have since relaunched the bath oils. Only in two blends – why? Because a Restful bath is on everyone’s menu. And A Zestful bath for the younger people in your life and pregnancy – so everybody can enjoy the wonders of the aromatic experience. I had a conversation with Catherine as I was collecting inventory – she challenged that the bath oils were always quite, oily. Now, I have not added an emulsifier to them, but I have amended the carrier oil. These are now in a fractionated coconut oil base, I have increased the intensity to 30% inclusion of essential oils and upgraded the packaging. After all, a product containing that much essential oil should be stored in amber glass, protected, so they are now stored in glass… and directly compete with luxury counterparts, without the luxury price tag.

There’s so much more to come, I will be writing just as much as I was formulating!

Please find the bath oils here and keep following to see the next new launches - including seeing the frankincense blends incorporated into new products
